As you know there are different types of Ownerships in a business such as a Sole Trader, Partnerships, Private Limited Company, Public Limited Company and Franchisees. Today, I am going to compare two Business's Aims, Objectives, Ownership and the purpose of the businesses.

BBC

The Ownership of BBC is a Public Limited Company.
This means that BBC is owned by a man called Sir Michael Lyons and Mark Thompson, who is the Director General of BBC.

About 30,000 people work for BBC.

The turnover for BBC for 2009 was £800 million. BBC turnover for 2010 is still proceeding on and as of this, we cannot get any information on the turnover for 2010. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the end of December to find the results.

However, the profit for BBC for 2009 was £32.20 billion. As for the profit for 2010, we can not proceed with anything else such as checking the results for 2010. As the result are still going on, we will have to wait until the end of December for the result.

BBC have about 800 stores World Wide.

BBC is a Large Business because they provide a service all over the World based World Wide. Also, they have more than 100 employees working for them. They have 30,000 employees working for BBC. That's 30 times more employees they have.

BBC is a Global business because they provide a service all over the World. They provide a service of telling the News around the world such as the Weather, Sports, Politics Issues and mnay more others things.

BBC is a Tertiary sector because it only provide a service. A tertiary sector is a sector that covers all the services and where nothing is produced.

David Lloyd

The Ownership of David Lloyd is a Sole Trader.
The Owner of David Lloyd is a Professional British tennis player named David Lloyd.

David Lloyd has around 6000 employees, including an expert health & fitness team of over 750 and more than 350 professional tennis players.
Not knowing the turnover, after looking at the profit it seems that the turnover would be very high.

However, David Lloyd did not make a profit in 2009, they made a loss of £241 million. For 2010, the results are still going on, which means that we will have to wait until the end of December for the results.

There are 78 clubs around the UK, which means that there must a lot of people working for David Lloyd.

David Lloyd is Medium business as they lost a lot of profit and had to close many branches. Many Large competitors have now entered the market, which means that there is more competition between the businesses.

David Lloyd is an European business as it is based in the UK and some places in Europe such as Amsterdam, Barcelona and Dublin. It is not based Global.

David Lloyd is a Secondary and Tertiary sector. Secondary because they provide a service such as Fitness machines and Sports facilities. Tertiary because to use the facilities and the machinery, you have to pay.

British Airways

The Ownership of British Airways is Public Limited Company.
This means that British Airways is owned by a Man called Martin Broughton, who is the chairman of British Airways.

About 57,000 people work for British Airways.

The turnover for British Airways for 2009 was £7994 million. British Airways turnover for 2010 is still proceeding on and as of this, we cannot get any information on the turnover for 2010. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until December to find the results.

However, British Airways did not make a profit in 2009, they made a loss of £38.50 million. For 2010, the results are still going on, which means that we will have to wait until the end of December for the figures.

British Airways have World Wide Reservations, this means that you will have to count the number of airports that have British Airways planes. However, British Airways have 233 aircraft's.

British Airways is a Large business as it is amongst the top air service business.

British Airways is a Global business as it not only provides a service in Europe but also provide a service all over the world.

British Airways is a Tertiary sector. They provide a service such as flying you to another country of your wish. Also because you have to buy the service such as buying the ticket. A tertiary sector is a sector that covers all the services and where nothing is produced.

Cancer Resarch

The Ownership of Cancer Research is a Public Limited Company.

Cancer Research is owned by the Government, this means that the Government keep all the profit.

More than 4000 Researchers, Doctor and Nurses across the UK, volunteer work for Cancer Research.

The turnover for Cancer Research for 2009 was £468,345 million. Cancer Research's turnover for 2010 is still proceeding on and as it is proceeding on, we can not get any information on the turnover. We will have to wait until December to find the results.

However, the profit for Cancer Research for 2009 was £133,874 million. Nevertheless, the profit for Cancer Research for 2010 is still proceeding on, this also means that we can not overview anything results until the end of December.

As Cancer Research is a World Wide and a fund raising business, they are mostly based all over the place and on line.

Cancer Research is a Large business as Cancer Research is the largest Cancer fund raising business in the world.

Cancer Research is a Tertiary sector. They provide a service, they also sell a service. A tertiary sector is a sector that covers all the services and where nothing is produced.
